Dear Friends and Fellow Members,
As Vice President of the Board of Trustees at the First Unitarian Church of Northwest Indiana, I am constantly reminded of the strength and warmth that our community brings to one another. It’s a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated group of individuals who work tirelessly to make our church a place of welcome, connection, and spiritual growth.
A Time of Reflection and Renewal
This season has been a time of reflection for many of us—a chance to look back on all we’ve accomplished together and to think about the path forward. From the heartfelt moments we’ve shared in services to the hands-on work of our volunteers in the community, every act of kindness and every gesture of support has been a testament to the power of our shared values.
We’ve faced challenges, but we’ve also celebrated successes. And through it all, what has stood out to me is our resilience and our commitment to each other. Our church is more than just a building; it is a community built on the love, dedication, and spirit of each one of you.
Looking Ahead: Opportunities for Growth
As we look toward the future, I see many opportunities for growth and connection. Our vision for the church is one where every voice is heard, where each person feels valued, and where we continue to be a beacon of hope and inclusivity in Northwest Indiana.
This vision can only be realized with the continued involvement of our members. Whether through serving on a team, participating in our programs, or simply showing up for one another, each of us has a role to play in building the future of our church. I encourage you to think about the ways you might deepen your engagement—whether it’s through volunteering, attending events, or even just reaching out to someone new.
A Call to Action: Let’s Build Together
Now, more than ever, we need to come together to strengthen our connections and renew our commitment to the values we hold dear. Let’s continue to be a place where compassion thrives, where justice is pursued, and where every person knows they have a place.
Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you. I am excited for what lies ahead, and I know that, together, we can create a future that reflects the very best of who we are.
In gratitude and fellowship,
James Johnson
