On July 7th, the First Unitarian Church of Northwest Indiana kicked off the new church year with a fun and festive Annual Summer Picnic! Members of all ages came together for a day filled with laughter, delicious food, and warm fellowship as we celebrated the beginning of another exciting chapter in our community’s life.

Held on a beautiful summer day, the picnic was the perfect way to reconnect after the summer break and welcome both familiar and new faces to the congregation. The picnic grounds were buzzing with energy as families and friends gathered under the sunny sky, enjoying a delicious spread of food prepared by our amazing volunteers. From classic barbecue favorites to fresh salads and sweet treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

In addition to the food, we had plenty of games and activities for both kids and adults, bringing out the playful spirit in all of us. Whether it was a friendly game of volleyball, lawn games, or simply relaxing in the shade, the day was a reminder of the joy that comes from spending time together in community.

The Annual Summer Picnic not only marks the start of the church year but also serves as a reminder of the strong bonds that connect us. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the year ahead, to deepen our relationships, and to reenergize our commitment to growing spiritually and building a loving community.

We are so grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this year’s picnic a wonderful success. The day was filled with warmth, laughter, and love—setting the tone for the exciting year ahead. Here’s to many more moments of connection, celebration, and joy in the months to come!
